I've come to the conclusion that there is no "one theme" that suits me. I've been striving for Vintage (40's/50's) for a long time, but there are other elements that I like, or are coming to enjoy very much.
I still love my vintage, a lot of elements from the 1920's through to the late 1950's, like finger waves, cloches, circle skirts and petticoats. Wedge shoes and victory rolls, wide leg pants and T-bar shoes.
I also have a growing infatuation with Steampunk and Dieselpunk couture. Elements of the Victorian, Noir 40's and gadgets! Deep jewel tones and the desire to be a little quirky.
Then there's the Doctor. Specifically the tenth Doctor as portrayed by David Tennant. Frock coat, pinstripe suit with chucks! Bring it on!
I'm not sure how I'm going to bring it all together, and in a way that does not look 'costumey', but I'm sure I can do it. I see a lot of navy, instead of black, browns, teals, deep ruby, pale blues and my beloved red.
I'm excited, and will be dropping pictures here when I can find images that are inspirational.
